February Favorites

2 post in one day! WOW! I know you can’t believe it! HAHA! Before February is over, I am going to do my favorites for this month.
This spray gel has done wonders for my hair. I know Ashia blogged about it last month. I have naturally very straight hair. It does not hold curl at all, so I decided to try this, and it is so easy to do when I am running late, which everyone knows that’s half of my life! HA! I dry my hair for just a minute and spray this in, and it makes it curl up and actually stay!

Special K Honey Nut bars are sooo good. They are so east for me to eat on the way to class, and they are actually good for you!

I splurged this month and got these jeans. I normally don’t spend a whole lot on my jeans just because i can never find any that actually work for me well I decided one day I would try AE jeans, and it was love at first try. They fit so well, and I really like the way they look on me!

Yes, Yes, I know it’s just the end of February, but I am really hoping that this warm weather stay around because these are my favorite flip flops, and I don’t want to have to put them back in the closet because it’s too cold to wear them! I wish I could wear them year round.

And last would be Orange Gatorade. I love it. Even more than Yellow Gatorade. It is soo good and refreshing.

Don’t forget to go check out Julianna, Lindley, and Ashia’s February Favorites!

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 16.

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 16: A Travel Story.
Well, would you like to know about the time I was bribed by 5 dollars to be quiet for 5 minutes, or the time a huge storm came up while we were at a restaurant and the power went out? Or how about the time it rained so much in Indiana that it was up the windows on our RV? Those are just a few of the many stories that I have.
During my childhood, my dad raced drag bikes. We went as a family most every weekend during the summer and fall months. It was very fun to be able to have the opportunity to go to different states. Over the years, I have been to Texas, Indiana, New Mexico, Kentucky, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Virginia.
My favorite place to go was Bowling Green, Kentucky, because they had a water park at the race track. I guess we were on the way, and that was all I could talk about because my dad and a friend tried to bribe me with 5 dollars to be quiet for 5 minutes. Needless to say, I lost that 5 dollars!
My favorite place to go and still is, is the beach!! Last year, we were there on my 18th birthday. A storm blew up while we were headed to supper, I, of course, had picked the restaurant that we were going to. Well, we got there and the power was on about the time we were going to be seated the power went out. This upset me because it was supposed to be my special day, but instead the weather decided to ruin it! Oh well, the restaurant still served us the food and it was just as good! We just ate in the dark! They even gave me a piece of pie for my birthday!
Hope you are having a great Monday!

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 15.

The end of my week was VERY hectic, so that is why I have not done the next day in my 30 Day Blog Challenge. My school choir participated in the Mass Choir festival put on by the Mississippi Junior College Association. It was fun, but very long!
Anyway on to Day 15: Your Dream Wedding.
This one will be very easy for me. I have for a VERY long time wanted to get married on the beach, so for the setting I want very simple:  white chairs and an arbor with some greenery maybe…  Something like this:

My flowers will consist of Gerbera Daisies and Calla Lilies. I want my bouquet to have all hot pink gerberas and yellow calla lilies. I want my bridesmaids to carry just hot pink gerbera daisies, so that my bouquet will stand out!

I want my bridesmaids dress to look like this and in a chocolate brown color. I think the pink daisies and the brown look sooo pretty together!

The groom and groomsmen will wear khakis and a white button down nothing too formal. I want them to wear a gerbera daisy boutineer to tie in all of our flowers.

I want my dress to be long and very flowy. I want it to have lace on it because lace is timeless in my opinion.  Something like this is what I have imagined.
OR

My Save the Date will be something simple but very girly. I really like the one on the left!

I want my invitation to be something with the beach theme.  Maybe something like this because I love flip flops. I would wear them year round if I could!

The first time I heard the song “Love Never Fails” by Brandon Heath, I knew immediately that I wanted it sung at my wedding. The lyrics of the song are so powerful and portray love of God all through the song. My Deddy and I will more than likely dance to the song “I’ll Always Be Your Baby” by Natalie Grant. I also want the song “Hold You Up” by Matthew West to be sung. Maybe that’s what our first dance will be to.  The lyrics are so good too. It talks about the love of a man and a woman, but also the love that God has for us as well. I also want Cannon in D Major to be played.**If you have time, go listen to them! They are great songs.**
I want my wedding cake to look like this. Except I want hot pink instead of the light pink. The initial of course will be changed, but I have no idea what it will be!
 OR maybe this
I would definitely change the flowers to Hot Pink and probably add some orange calla lilies.
I think I covered most of the basis. Yes, I was one of those little girls who have had their wedding imagined since I was 5. Of course all of this is so temporary. I honestly think when I find the one I love withal of my heart, we could get married in a land field, and I wouldn’t care!!
I have no idea who I will marry, but I know that God has handpicked that special someone for me. They may be someone I see on a regular basis, or a stranger that I will meet one day, but I know for sure that he is out there somewhere!
I hope I didn’t bore you too much with all of this. It’s simple, but it’s my style! I hope ya’ll have a great beginning of the week!

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 14.

Thank ya’ll sooo much for the feedback! My favorite was purse #2, too! I just have to give myself options! :) I found it on this website, http://www.baghaus.com/product/Big-Buddha-Fiesta-Bag/new-handbags, but they also sell these purses at Dillard’s, so I am going to try to find it there!
Anyway, on to 30 Day Blog Challenge, Day 14: Your Wish List!
This could go on and on and on! HA!
The one thing that tops my list is a Black 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe.  I want one so bad I can taste it. I have to wait a few more years until I can upgrade though because my car is paid for, and we are about to have 2 more drivers in the house!

Next would be these cowboy boots. I have a pair of boots, and I was satisfied when I got them, but I have always secretly wanted these. I just haven’t found them in my size yet!

I want a black pair of glittery Toms. I am a new Tom wearer, but I LOVE them!!

And I of course want this purse, but I haven’t been to Dillard’s to see if they have it yet! :)

I hope your week has been great! Mine is about to get very busy. I will be traveling with the choir tomorrow and Friday for Mass Choir Festival. I am excited about it, but I have been to these things before, and they tend to get veeerrryyyy boring! Oh well, it’ll be over soon! Hope the end to your week is great!! :)

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 13.

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 13: What’s in your purse?
Well, this will be a boring one. I carry my purse almost everywhere, but if I’m just running a quick errand I just grab my wallet and take it with me.
My purse holds:
·         My Wallet-I got it for graduation. I need a new one. Mine is too springy.
·         Cell Phone
·         Small makeup bag with way too many lipsticks/lip glosses- I got this for graduation as well. It is blue giraffe print with a black initial “H”. It is so handy.
·         Check book
·         My planner
See, I told you it would be boring!! I am actually in need of a new purse the one I have is a hand me down from a cousin!  I’ve been shopping around online, and I like these three.. Which one do ya’ll think?
Purse #1:

 Purse # 2:
 Purse # 3

I really like them all, and i am such an indecisive person, so I can't decide which one!
Hope Tuesday has been good to you! This weather is just gotten me SO ready for Spring/Summer.

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 12.

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 12: A picture of your family.
Graduation 2010
I know I have posted this before, but here is another picture of my family. It seems like the only recent family pictures that we have are from my graduation this past May. Oh well, not much has really changed except Steven and Anna are both taller! HA!
I hope ya’ll have had a great weekend, and are having a good Monday!

Happy Birthday, Anna and Steven!!!

Happy Birthday to the best brother and sister in the world! We fight all the time, but I love you both!
April 13th, the day they came home.
So, in honor of Anna and Steven’s 15th birthday, I will explain why Anna and Steven are miracle children.  I mentioned in this post that my brother and sister were miracle children. You ask why? Anna and Steven are twins. They are 3 ½ years younger than me. Your next question is how do you remember this? Well, I have heard many stories, but as I was told by my child psychology teacher the other day something as traumatic as this was will always be remembered because it had such an impact on my life.
Welcome Home banner made by workers of Tender Years.
Anna and Steven’s due date was mid May. Well, instead of waiting until then, they decided that February 18 would be a great time to come. Rewind one week, my mom went into labor the day before Valentine's Day, and was immediately rushed to Jackson to University Hospital. They were able to stop labor, but the question was for how long?  Only one week. During that week, my mom was put on STRICT bed rest and was told not to get very far from the hospital. Thank Jesus for family. She arranged to stay with her sister until the twins were born. Fast forward to February 18, I remember that day so vividly like it was happening yesterday or something. My dad and I had just gotten back from seeing my mom. We went to some friend’s house for dinner. While eating dinner my dad received a phone call, it was my mom she was at the hospital. There was no stopping labor this time. Anna and Steven were about to enter the world. While I stayed with friends and family, a man from our town along with his brother flew my dad to Jackson to be with my mom.  He did not make it for their birth. He was there after. The question then was will they survive? That was a HUGE question, one that could only be answered after they were born.  My sister weighed 2 lbs. and 12 oz., and my brother weighed 2lbs. and 9oz. Anna was the sickest out of the two. She had blood on her brain and needed an external brain shunt. She was on a ventilator. Steven was only on a ventilator. They spent 2 months in NICU. My mom would go on Thursday afternoon after she finished school and come home on Sunday night. She spent her days in the hospital and night with her family, either one sister or her parents.
Seeing them for the first time in our own house, and not the hospital.
Your next question is where was I in all of this? Well, let’s just say I spent a lot of time with babysitters, my mom’s sisters and her best friends. They took care of me. They got me to daycare and home. My dad of course was there too, but he worked during the day, and sometimes long days so it would be very late when he got home.
My favorite thing to do. Hold a sleeping baby. I was so pretending in this picture.
While all of this was going on, my parents were also trying to move into a new house. My poor mother had no idea where any of her things where when she got home because we had so many volunteers and friends helping us move in, so when the time was right Anna and Steven would come home to that house instead of our old house.
Anna and Steven's first Christmas.
I truly believe in the power of prayer. My sister never would’ve made it.  She may have weighed more than Steven, but she was the sickest. Lots of prayer went on while they were sick. I can NOT even begin to imagine how my mother felt going through all of this, as well as my dad. They are both proof that our God performs miracles every day.
This is normally what life looked like.
Looking at both of the now, you would NEVER believe that they had a story like this. They are healthy teenagers about to start driving. SCARY. It makes me feel old too. HA!
Anna and Steven's 2nd Halloween.
So with all of that being said,

I joke a lot about you both crashing my world, but hey, what can I say?? I was an only child, and I was the only grandchild on one side that lived close enough to be spoiled, but my life would never ever be complete without the two of you!!
Happy Birthday, Anna! I love you! You are my best friend even though we fight a lot.
Happy Birthday, Steven! I love you! You can beat me up now. I guess I should’ve been easy on you when we were younger.
I hope you both have an awesome birthday. My life would not be complete without you both. Anna you’ll always be the baby, and Steven you’ll always have to be the referee in the middle of our fights!

30 Day Blog Challenge, Day 11.

** I know that this picture won't load. I know this is terrible, but if you right click on it, and then select COPY IMAGE SELECTION and then PASTE it into a new window you will be able to view it. I'm sorry for this inconvenience. I have no idea what happened!**

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 11: A picture of something/someone who means a lot to you.
http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v295/16/84/61700894/n61700894_30798024_2575.jpg
This picture is one of the last pictures that we have of my grandparents together. Obviously, it is very clear that they are somewhere in the hospital. It was a few days before my cousin, Sarah, got married. Late May/early June of 2008, this is one of the sweetest pictures I have for them. It just shows all the love that they shared for one another. My grandmother is still living, and although she isn’t in her right mind, she still loves that man more than anything in this world. We lost my grandfather from his battle with pancreatic cancer on August 19, 2008. I remember that day like it was yesterday..
Anyway that is not the point of today, the point is to show this picture and to tell you how much I love those 2 people in that picture and how much they have impacted my life. My grandmother was the homemaker while my grandfather was a doctor. My grandfather was a medical doctor who cared very much for his patients. He wasn’t the type to diagnose you and send them on your way. He was the type of man who wanted to hear all about your life and would tell story after story about a hunting of fishing trip if you had the time to listen. Most people did listen because there was always a moral of a joke to the story he was telling. He was a very funny man. He instilled values in my mom that she has passed on to me, and for that I will be forever grateful! I miss him every day, but I know we will see him again one day!!
I hope that you all cherish your time you have with your loved ones! Never ever take one second for granted because one day they won’t be there, and you don’t want to have to look back and realize that you left things unsaid! Tell them you love them.
I hope you all have had a great week! Tomorrow is a big day at our house, and for that reason I am going to take a break from the challenge for a very special birthday post!

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 10.

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 10: Something you never get tired of doing.
There are 2 things in this world that I will never get tired of doing. They are singing and babysitting. Of course, I’ll never get tired of watching TV, or spending time with my family and friends, but those are just basic things.  Granted, that we should never ever take our friends and family for granted, I know that, but maybe sometimes I get sick of spending time with them. Sorry ya’ll, I’m just keeping it real!
Any who, I know I have expressed my love for children on here before, but I love children. They are absolutely precious and are so hilarious at some of the things they do. I know they get fussy and are very irritable at times, but all in all, I honestly never get sick of babysitting. Here is a picture of me with one of my sweet babysitting “babies”. She isn’t a baby anymore. She’s growing up so fast! I love this sweet girl to death! **I keep others too, but Ashia is the only one who ever takes my picture while I’m keeping her child! HA!** I also know that some of you moms are going just wait until you have kids, and I’m sure it get difficult, but I get to keep/spoil the sweet kids and then give them back!!
Graduation 2010

She was such a baby then. It amazes me how big she has gotten. She was 9 months in this picture, and she is now a year and a half! That is sooo hard for me to believe. I don't have a recent picture.
Singing is the another thing i will never get tired of. It is the way that I relieve my stress. It is my outlet as some would call it. I love doing it. I have been singing in the choir since I was in the 8th grade, but loved music before that. My mom played a very big part in this because I grew up hearing her sing in the choir and sing specials at church, so I give her all the credit. I definitely got her voice! I love to blare my music and sing to the top of my lungs when I get mad. It makes me feel better.
The weather is just beautiful again!! I’m getting very spoiled!! Hope ya’ll are having a good Wednesday! It’s almost the weekend. We will be celebrating 2 VERY special birthdays this weekend in our house! Anna and Steven turn 15 on Friday! Have a good Thursday!

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 9.

I LOVE this weather we have been having. The past few days, my roommate and I have been walking around campus (which is about all of three blocks. HA!) just enjoying the afternoon!! It’s probably just a tease, but maybe spring/summer is right around the corner. Flip flop time is near!! This makes me so happy!
30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 9: Something that you never leave the house without.
If I am driving my own car, I don’t leave without my charged cell phone and headset, my GPS because I have NO sense of direction and get lost going somewhere I have been a thousand times ;it is ridiculous, my purse, of course, and my charged  IPod.  If I am with my mom or someone else, I always make sure I have my purse and phone.
On special occasion, I may bring my makeup with me, but normally I don’t. I’m just not really one to freshen my makeup throughout the day. That’s probably a bad thing I may need to start doing that!
Anyway, I hope you all have had a great start to your week. Tomorrow is hump day!! YAY!

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 8.

Let me start out by saying Happy Valentine’s Day.  I absolutely positively HATE this holiday. It is way overrated and just insane. It’s not because I am single. It’s because I think that if you are with that special person that you love you shouldn’t just have one special day to tell them how much you love them. You should tell them everyday how much you love them. Totally my opinion though.
On to the blog challenge… Day 8: What’s in your makeup bag?
This will be fun for me. Even though I know that I need to clean mine out. HA! I guess this post will also tell about my make up routine too.
First of all let me show you my super cute, super convenient makeup bag! I love it! It's actually the travel size makeup bag from my pattern of Vera Bradley, but it's just so easy for me to have everything in there. Like when I am traveling, most of the time my glasses and contact cases both go in there along with my face wash things too. it's just so easy to have. I got it as a graduation/birthday present from one of my best friends, Megan!

I start with a tinted moisturizer from Mary Kay. I love this stuff because at the beach I can put some on because it contains SPF and look like I have a touch of makeup on while I’m lying by the beach.

Next comes my foundation. I normally use a Mary Kay foundation, but I am currently out, and am using a Maybelline Mousse foundation. It doesn’t work as well, but it’ll do for now.

After foundation comes Mary Kay concealer.  It works some miracles on “problem areas” as commercials like to call it.

My powder/bronzer is next. I use Rimmel London Natural Bronzer. I started using this about a year ago and really like it. It covers and blends really well.

I use Mary Kay blush. I actually hate wearing blush. I just wear it to please my sweet mother! (Sorry Mom!! Love you!) She thinks I need some color. I don’t see any difference.

On to the eyes, I use a mixture of 3 different eye shadows.  The first one I put on is a color out of a Cover Girl pallet called Sombras.  It goes right above my lashes. For the rest of my eyelid, I use another color out of a different Cover Girl pallet called fard accents. I then use an accent color from this same pallet that goes in the crease of my eye.

I wrap it all up with some eye liner from Cover Girl color espresso and a touch of mascara by Maybelline Define-A-Lash color black brown.

Sorry that I bored you with all of that. I hope that ya’ll have a great Monday!! Remember to tell your family how much you love them. Valentine’s day isn’t just for the romantics out there.
