30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 7.

Starting off with yet another apology, I don’t know why, but it is hard for me to blog on the weekends.. Anyway, back to the blog challenge. Today, Day 7: Favorite Book.
I have read a lot of books. Mainly, the paper back romance novels. Yes, I am one of those people. HA! Anyway, I have 2 favorite books though.
My first is The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. Really I love all of his books even though they leave me in an emotional wreck afterward. Any who, it’s definitely a GREAT book.

My next one is the oh, so original To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. We had to read this my junior year in high school, and I have loved it since then. It’s definitely a must read especially if you are from the south. The movie is also a really good one too!

Hope your weekend was great. I babysat for the most part of mine. Some of you are saying what?? Babysitting on your weekend?? Well, it is the way I make my extra money, and it also helps that I absolutely love children. Have a good Monday!

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 6.

Day 6: Favorite Food.
I promise this blog challenge isn’t all about my favorites. I have some pretty good topics. These first few post just ended up being all in a row.  This topic should be very easy though.

My favorite fast food is between Wendy’s and Chic-fil-a. There’s a ongoing story that when I was a Senior in high school, we would go on long trips to away football games to cheer. We would always stop and eat before the game because is there really enough time for a cheerleader to eat at half time and then have to go jump around. NO. HA! Anyway, we were discussing one day where we would eat, and how everybody wanted “real” food not fast food well of course me being me piped up and said yes, I want “real” food too like Wendy’s. I hear that story all the time by my class mates. They never could believe that I though Wendy’s was “real” food; just a little story for you. We don’t have a Chic-fil-a where we live, but there is one in Jackson, and we travel there a lot, so whenever we travel there I always make a point to either get a chicken biscuit or a milkshake because theirs are amazing!!
My favorite restaurant style would either be Japanese or Mexican. I love American food too! HA! It’s just that my mom cooks that on a daily basis. I love the Mexican because of the chips and salsa. I love Japanese because of the cooked sushi and them actually cooking right in front of me.
My favorite food cooked by my mom? Wow! That’s a hard one.  She makes some really good fried chicken, and her broccoli and rice casserole is to die for. Typing all of this just makes me hungry.
I’m not a huge sweets person. Don’t get me wrong I love dessert, but I’m more of a snacker. I mostly snack on all the things that are SO unhealthy for me. Chips, chex mix, pop corn, call me crazy, but I could eat the whole bag of salad croutons.
We were out of school for the snow, and let me just tell ya’ll it was BEAUTIFUL! God sure knows how to show His beauty. I am ready for some shorts and flip-flops weather mostly because I hate wearing socks! I know I’m weird!! : )

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 5.

Day 5: Favorite TV Show(s).
This one will be somewhat easy, but for an outsider looking in I know you all will think I am the craziest, random person. I like a bunch of different shows.

The Young and the Restless. Yes, a soap opera. Megan got me hooked on this show like 2 summers ago, and I can’t wait to watch it every day when I get the chance! I mean I guess we all need a little drama in our lives.
Friday Night Lights. I just stared watching this show not too long ago, and the series finale is tonight.. Not excited about that at all. I’m actually very sad about it. I love that it is set in a small town and how it portrays the life of a small town football coach and his family, the small school, and of course the football!!

Criminal Minds. It’s only because I love a good mystery every now and then. HA! I will not watch this show by myself or at night!! I’m a huge scaredy cat!

The Bachelor is on, and I love that too. It isn’t always on though. It’s either The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, or Bachelor Pad. I love them all.
When Army Wives is on, I love watching that!! I love seeing a good military love story, and the trials that each one of them has to face!

Grey’s Anatomy.  I watch this because they play re-runs all the time on life time and this is the only channel that my roommate and I watch at school! HA!
A few others are:
Secret Life of the American Teenager

 Undercover Boss

 The Amazing Race
Currently we are getting snow! YAY! It really does look like a blizzard is coming, but you know us folks from the South just aren't used to all of this snow we've been getting recently. We tend to over react about it! HA!  I hope we have NO SCHOOL tomorrow. Now, I'll go stick my head in a Biology book for the rest of the night.  Online classes are great. (please say you sense my sarcasm.)

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 4.

Day 4: Favorite movie.
Well, as I said with the favorite songs, I have more than one favorite movie.
My all time favorite movie in the WHOLE wide world is Sweet Home Alabama. Ya’ll I can pretty much quote the whole movie! Especially this part, “Why do would you want to marry me for anyhow?” “So, I can kiss you anytime I want.” AGH!!! I will never ever get sick of watching this movie.

Another all time favorite is Remember the Titans. It’s all because I love some football! I can’t quote this movie like I can the other, but it’s still a huge favorite!

And just for laughs, a Disney classic, that I can still quote most of the whole movie and have been able to since I was about five, would be the 101 Dalmatians. I was once Cruella De Ville for Halloween one time. That just shows how much I love that movie too!!

Hope the start of your week has been great! We are supposed to get some of the “S” word towards the end of the week. Let’s cross our fingers in hopes that it does! A day out of school would be GREAT!

30 Day Blog Challenge. Day 2

Day 2: Where I live?
Well, it said to include a picture of the town I live in….. and well, ya’ll I don’t have one, so I’ll just tell you about it.
I live in a very small town in Mississippi.  It has one main street and no traffic lights only 4-way stops. We have one grocery store, and no, it’s not called Wal-Mart. We have 2 banks and one post office. In our town, we get excited over the little things on life. Like the fact that we will be getting a McDonald’s very soon. We already have a KFC/Taco Bell and Subway. Oh and how could I forget Bumper’s? They were here before the rest of them.  We’re the kind of town where everything pretty much shuts down on Saturday at noon and doesn’t open back up until Monday morning. After church on Sunday’s, you go down to the local gas station and grab a plate lunch before going on home for a Sunday nap.  Some people wonder how we make it? Well, you just learn to drive the extra 30 minutes to get what you need. No shopping malls. No big designer store. Just the basics is all we have, and that’s all we need.  We aren’t a tourist town. Ha! If you blink one good time, you’ll miss it! What most people would consider “fun”? It would either be watching the helicopter land at the hospital, or trying find out where the police/ambulance are going. Maybe even ride a few dirt roads. (Yes, we still have them.) We have lots of farmers.  My favorite part of my hometown would have to be the way that the community supports our football teams. On Homecoming Friday every year, each business takes the time out of their day to step out onto the sidewalk and watch the football team ride the fire truck, the homecoming maids show off their pretty dresses, and the high school classes show their hard work by riding the different themed floats. I love my close knit community.  I’ll end with a few pictures of the homecoming parade of my senior year. You can get small glimpses of the community through them.

"I said I'm from the front pew of a wooden white church
The courthouse clock that still don't work
Where a man's word means everything
Where moms and dads were high school flames
Gave their children grandmothers maiden name
Yes it may not sound like much
But its where I'm from."
